STATEWIDE AMBER ALERT HAS BEEN ISSUED BY THE T.B.I. A FOUR YEAR OLD WHITE FEMALE MADISON KERR WITH BROWN HAIR AND BROWN EYES THIRTY SEVEN INCHES TALL AND FORTY TWO POUNDS. CHILD WAS TAKEN BY HER NONCUSTODIAL FATHER JERRY JONES WHO IS WANTED FOR FOUR COUNTS OF CHILD MOLESTATION. JONES AND THE CHILD WERE LAST SEEN FLEEING THE AREA OF THE RAMADA INN ON HOSPITALITY DRIVE FRANKLIN TENNESSEE. JONES IS DRIVING A LATE MODEL WHITE FORD TAURUS WITH A STOLEN TN TAG 599 PFJ AND WAS LAST SEEN ON HWY 96 EASTBOUND. Hello John,

Thanks for the comment, I am not to much for putting political stuff on our blog but this is / was something that cut me to the bone. As an assitant EC for Anderson County but I am also a local Volunteer Fire Fighter with Andersonville VFD.

We are a poor department by most standards but we have to maintain the same standards as a paid professtional department does. But as a ham I think we sometimes meet or exceed the communications capablities that we have avaliable to us in the fire service or police service.

It is the people like him that set us up for faliure as a nation when something goes wrong by not using the people how can help and be independent of the main system.

But this may a non-issue now that he has withdrawn from the race.

Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney says that he never intended to demean Amateur radio in an exchange with a television reporter two years ago. This, as the debate over his comments flares anew on the ham bands and on hobby radio blogging websites nationwide.

Amateur Radio Newsline's Don Wilbanks was the one who contacted Mitt Romney and asked him to explain:

It all began during a televised Town Meeting that aired on November 16th of 2005 on segment 2 of WCVB television's "When Disaster Strikes" The program featured public safety and volunteer organization officials from across Massachusetts.

Moderator Natalie Jacobson had asked Governor Romney questions about communications interoperability, and communication without commercial power.

During the exchange Jacobson commented '...so you don't see yourself getting down to ham radio operators?...' The then governor replied: "No, we don't need to deal with ham radio operators. We have power systems that allow us to speak with one another and to manage our response."
